OtherShore is a young & dynamic artist-driven dance company in New York, co-founded and directed by dancers Sonja Kostich and Brandi Norton.

Unlike many modern dance companies that are led by one choreographer and perform works created only by that individual, OtherShore commissions new works with a variety of choreographers from vastly different backgrounds. In doing so, the company strives to develop a repertoire that is as diverse as its members and one that challenges the traditional model of a modern dance company.

They get great reviews by New York Times, Herald-Tribune and more…

One of their recent choreographies, ‘The Goats‘, directed by Annie-B Parson and Paul Lazar (and performed by Miguel Anaya, Elizabeth DeMent, Sonja Kostich, Aaron Mattocks and Brandi Norton) used some music of brunk.

Passive Cable Theory – Initial reduction flaking

Starts like some Vangelis synthesizer gone lunatic, and it doesn’t look back.

Portrait is the most personal track here.
Most people will probably consider track 3 (Inevetability) to be unlistenable and terribly annoying. I guess they’re completely right, and still it’s there, for a full 7 minutes and 15 horrible seconds.

There are some really simple, minimalistic tracks here, exploring little textures and variations of mostly harsh/shrill sounds, evolving noises and abstract fragments.

No guitars this time, mostly heavily processed & distorted synths and structures and violent, piercing bursts of exploding noise. Enjoy.

Starts with a relaxed trip through thick layers of looped and delayed distortion (like you’re in the eye of a storm), and it ends with something more hectic & harsh (Autoloze Zondag). The storm gets you after all.

A hint for the title: neuritis.
