ESCALATIE / DE-ESCALATIE by Kungstrep Birkovod is clearly a postmodern and deconstructivist reflection on a disintegrating era – as seen from the observer position of a participant in the actual conditions that are questioned – and deals artistically and subliminally with the possible causes, consequences and moral implications of the inevitability of entropy, starting from philosophical considerations about the place of entropy that are unconsciously deeply rooted in our culture. our species in the greater whole, the potential meaning and possible definition of what that greater whole can be and how to determine that from the physical confines of the limited sensory experience of an individual organism, taking into account, where possible, the function of species in the network of life and the place of the human species in the food web, and the role of and our possible ethical-moral attitude towards the concept of finitude in all this.
