Graphic design for an invitation to the public defence of a PhD

Design proposals for an invitation to the public defense of a PhD by Dries Cardoen.
(On the subject: “The physiological background of the “altruistic” sterility
in workers of the honeybee Apis mellifera”).

Virusses play an important role in this matter, and the PhD candidate (now doctor Cardoen, indeed!) wanted some pop-art influences… so I gladly combined these aspects here.
